Soup Powders
1.Soup Powders means the products obtained by mechanical dehydration of fresh
vegetables/ fruits juice/ pulp/puree of sound, vegetables / fruits and or
earlier concentrated, dehydrated, frozen or processed fruits & vegetables,
singly or in combination by blending with salt, nutritive sweeteners, spices
and condiments and any other ingredients suitable to the product, as appropriate
to the product and packed suitably to prevent spoilage.
2.The product may contain food additives permitted in these regulations including
Appendix A. The product
shall conform to the microbiological requirements given in
Appendix B. The product shall comply with the following requirements:—
Moisture (m/m) – Not more than 5.0 percent
Total soluble solids (m/m) (on dilution on ready to serve basis) – Not less than 5.0 percent
